A Columbia-based construction company with a presence in the Lowcountry and PeeDee region has expanded to the Upstate.

Mashburn Construction Co. Inc. has purchased a building located at 2028 Gibbs Shoals Road (formerly CEC Construction) in Greer for its Upstate office.

The company has been in business for over 48 years, headquartered in Columbia with offices also in Charleston, Myrtle Beach and now the Upstate, according to a news release.

“We are excited about the outlook of having our Upstate office located just outside of downtown Greenville in an area that is experiencing so much growth and development,” said Lee Mashburn, president of Mashburn Construction. “Our strategic direction and accelerated company growth are the driving force for this investment.”

The firm has also brought on several new team members to serve the new upstate location, according to the release.

Alan Calloway comes on board as superintendent. Scott Wilms has joined Mashburn as a senior project manager. Ed Calloway will lead the Upstate in business development efforts. Dylan Waltz will also remain a leading superintendent for the Upstate team. Waltz has been employed with Mashburn for nearly a decade serving the Upstate division. Jason Bittner, a veteran of Mashburn with over 15 years of tenure at the company, will serve as project executive providing oversight and leadership to the team and projects in the region.

Mashburn Construction has built a vast portfolio of diverse projects over the last four decades and continues to be a leader within multiple markets throughout the state of South Carolina, the release stated.
